Review:Wings by Aprilynne Pike

Synopsis:Laurel was mesmerized, staring at the pale things with wide eyes. They were terrifyingly beautiful—too beautiful for words.
Laurel turned to the mirror again, her eyes on the hovering petals that floated beside her head. They looked almost like wings.
In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever.
Wings is a lovely debut novel. I liked the way Aprilynne has written the story. Laurel, though a seemingly ordinary 15 year old girl, sprouts plants on her back one day. Her shock and astonishment at this beautiful 'wing like petals' have been beautifully demonstrated. I like the fact that one gets a thorough insight into her mind-how she is afraid that she is a 'freak',different from all her friends...thus her trying to conceal her wings, keeping it a secret from everyone(except David),even from her parents!
David is the best friend anyone can ever get. He helps Laurel, supports her, even risks his life for her...
Tamani, the beautiful faerie,on the other hand has an elusive attraction about him. He must be visually stunning with all his green hair-ends and all-I can still picture him...is a great sight!
Laurel must have had a really tough time deciding whom to choose-David or Tamani. I am really eager to read the sequel..
I will give Wings a 3.5 out of 5. Thats pretty good considering the narrative actually picks up pace after Tamani's appearance!
The Princess Diaries 10 by Meg Cabot

Synopsis:
Mia is about to turn eighteen and has decided to put down her princess pen for good. This is your one and only chance to find out how it all ends - including the answers to hotter than hot questions like: Is the practically perfect J.P. the real love of Mia's life? Will an election in Genovia mean the end of princessdom for Mia? Is she REALLY the last virgin at Albert Einstein High? And finally, crucially, will Michael Moscovitz return from Japan and make a last-minute romantic gesture just in time to save our heroine from making a VERY big mistake You have "so" got to read the book
This book wraps up the series in a way certain to please all Princess Diaries fans. It is a very fulfilling ending and a much wanted one. Its a fast paced read and I finished the book in one sitting flat! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Personally, never a fan of J.P.,I always though Mia and Michael made the perfect couple and was quite disappointed at their break-up. But the ending proposed by the last book totally satisfies me. It couldn't have been better. I am sure all Mia's fans will agree with me...
Cabot brings her internationally bestselling series to a royal conclusion in the tenth and final installment. I highly recommend it!
